Yellow Sunflowers (C)

 This is a 12 x 32 commissioned  art work .
It is a lot like the other one that I did. But it is the same size and same subject.
The owner is going to put it up against a, as we call it, paper bag brown wall.  I think it will really look good on the wall. Nice and bright!
It is amazing too me how many people have just bare walls.
They spend a fortune on furniture, paint and other things, not art.
Maybe its more here, than other places.
I don"t know about you all, but yellow Sunflower's just make me smile and happy.

Stuck

I am trying to get a commission painting done.
 I am just stuck.
Its the same size as another painting I did, 12 x 36..... and the same subject  Sunflowers.
I am trying so hard too make it NOT look like the other one. Guess what?
 It looks like the other.
So I am just going to finish it this weekend and not do anymore that size .
I went to the book store today with my friend , and was reading a book about.
So I have decided, like I do once and then , to do it.
These things take  up time, especially working  (hairstyling), and painting, and then having to think. LOL

Grapes in a Bowl (c

Still life Grapes in a bowl

I don't do too many still life's, but I love them.
Seems like I have so many thing around to paint.
I love the Old Masters dark against light, but then I think about the flowers and how bright and happy I love to make them.
I have to have light and lots of sun. I don't think I could ever live where I didn't have sun shine everyday.
It warms the earth and it warms the soul.
But Still life"s are fun to do.
I intend to do more, but have a couple of commissions to do first.
  Have a great day.

Cheers, from Wine Frog

Wine man and I, hope that, for all of you, this decade, will be a wonderful one.
I'm not making too many plans, just a few.
Hopefully I will get a message on what to do from a higher power. Seems I forget after about 2 weeks. Oh
well, we shall see what it brings.
I am going to start working on more coasters. They did well, as with my giclee's, this Christmas.
The ecomony in Vegas is pretty bad, so I feel very fortunate.

Fall

Pumpkins, beautiful leaves, and coolness.  Fall is the best time of the year to me.
No more hot weather, family get together, and busy times.
I did this piece for fall time.
It kind of goes with the sunflower I just finished too.
I hope everyone enjoys the Holloween  kick off this Sat. and has safe travels too where ever they go too

Dragonflies and Sunflowers

Sunflowers and Dragonflies, was a comissioned painting for a client that had recently moved to So. Calif.
They are very close to the ocean so I think of Blue, of course, and the Dragonflies, just came to me.
She loves flowers, so I thought I'd do her a garden. And the Sunflowers go with her, even though they are a litlle pale.

My friend from Roswell High School, Bob Fowler saw the painting, and wrote this poem.

   Sunflower, Brightly shine,
  Against the noonday skies,
Flying among them, in broken line,
  One, then two, swoop dragonflies.

Reading Stories (c)

Reading books is such a relaxing things.
I know books, are not as exciting to children anymore, with all the games, and things they have now.
I hope that books don't go the way of the radio stories they had in my parents time. Use your imagnation.

There is a publishing convention in Las Vegas, this weekend, I am going armed with FROGS.
My friend Sherry Richerson is going, hopeful we don't have to pull a Lucy and Ethel to get in. Trying to find tickets.

Bird of Paradise artwork
This Bird of Paradise flower was painted from my friends garden in Las Vegas.
I heard the more sun the Bird of Paradise gets the brighter the Orange and Purplish Blue they get.
She now lives in Calif. and I can't wait to get down there and take pictures.
This will be in giclee' prints soon.
